Coach Ken Baker (1938—2008)

During his nearly 40 years as a teacher and coach at East Greenbush, Hoosick Falls and Cambridge, he brought out the very best in the hundreds of young men and women whose lives he touched.

Not only was Coach Baker a Section 2 Hall of Fame coach in both football and wrestling, but he was an outstanding athletic director, dedicated teacher, enthusiastic mentor and devoted family man. People like Coach Baker do not pass this way very often — we have all been blessed to have known him.

Therefore, it is only fitting that we should seek to preserve the values he stood for through the establishment of the Coach Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to ensure that the legacy of Coach Baker will live on through the awarding of scholarships to deserving high school seniors from both the Hoosick Falls and Cambridge schools each year.
